Never Stop Learning

I decided to continue with the master's credits that I received through my MSU teacher internship program because I would like to remain knowledgeable about the most effective teaching techniques and the latest issues in education. I believed that the master's program at MSU (with a concentration in science and math education) would give me an opportunity to continue learning about methods of teaching I would be able to use in my classroom.

I also think it is important for teachers to remember what it is like to be a student.  It is really easy to forget what qualities make a good teacher when you have not been a student for a while.  I now find myself more critical from a student perspective when writing directions, or making activities for my class than I was before.

One of the areas I hoped to improve upon was incorporating technology into my lessons.  Students today thrive on the use of technology and it is important that teachers are capable of using various forms of technology in the classroom, especially in science.  Although I have been teaching for four years, I feel that through the MSU master's program, I have gained knowledge and tools that have helped to make me a more effective teacher.
